| | HOME, BUILDING and APARTMENT INSPECTION PROCEDURE
Inspection Standards (general outline of the inspection and limitations):
• Residential inspection meets and exceeds the guidelines of the:
• New York State Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics
• Applies to home and building inspection and to apartment interior inspection.
• Commercial inspection is a property condition assessment.
• A walk-through visual survey in order to identify conspicuous defects and deferred maintenance items.
On-Site and Prior to the Beginning of the Inspection:
• Client reviews and signs the Pre-Inspection Agreement.
During the Inspection:
• Client actively participates with the inspector.
• Inspector iterates the process of:
1) Identifying a deficiency based on visual observation.
2) Identifying the root cause, if possible.
3) Evaluating the severity of the deficiency and prioritizing the the need for repair / replacement.
4) Making recommendation(s) for further action.
Inspector, On-Site After Completion of the Inspection:
• Reviews major deficiencies with the Client and provides verbal cost esitmates for these items.
• Reviews termite inspection findings for a residential inspection .
